I always enjoy getting my sisters involved in my work — my sister-in-laws included. When I suggested to my husband's sister a stylized photoshoot, she already had something in mind!

A purple handprint marks a pledge against sexual violence. My sister-in-law, who has experienced such violence, doesn’t want to see herself as a victim, but as an advocate. She wants to spread awareness, and this is her stand.

“I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a really long time. It does stand out and make a statement.”

As we walked through the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she was not afraid to tell people about the paint on her face. And many asked!

Her sister and a family friend tagged along with us, and we decided to do a flowery theme — gold and purple go quite well together, as do these two!

Their individual pictures definitely shine!

I’m excited to do themed pictures with these girls again! So cool and fun!
